Rockin' K Ranch would like to welcome you to our site. We have raised foundation appaloosas for several years now and modern appaloosas for the last few years. Either way, we strive to produce smart, willing, colorful foals that are also correct in their conformation and attitude. Our ranch is located in White Plains KY previously know as, "Little Prairie" and we are nestled on the outskirts of town on 50 acres of timothy/orchard grass pastures.

One of our foundation few spot stallions that we previously owned (deceased 2002) was named "Summers Flashy Dude" aka Jessie (Dudes Masterflash x GBRS First Summer). He produced many foals that had great height, color and build. We will always remember him and we still have some of his offspring and as a bonus, a few of them are windwalkers otherwise known as the indian shuffle. The indians loved these types of smooth, running like the wind horses.

Another foundation bay roan stallion that we previously owned (sold in 1999 and currently standing in Australia) was named "A Sundown Drifter" (A Freckles Bandit x Lady Deeds) and he produced very colorful foals-mostly leopards that were very people friendly and calm in nature. We regret selling him because we loved his disposition, bloodlines and color producing abilities. Drifter is the reason we purchased the stallion prospect, Joker.

Joker Six Spot is a blue roan w/white over back and hips with few black spots.....so he is registered black through ApHC. He is our next  stallion prospect  (MJS My Choice x Suny Spanish Blossom) that will stand in 2009. We can't wait to see what he produces! Some of his other bloodlines include: Abdulls Pok A Son~A Freckles Bandit~Navajo Joe~Mighty Cut Up~and Impressive Sunset~

Currently standing at stud is our 14.2hh red dun quarter horse named "Heza Dun Legend" (Zans Living Legend x Dustys Dun Baby). Legend is a very calm natured, easy to handle stallion with great attitude and brains. He was broke to ride in 2006 and has been used as stallion only since then. We pasture breed only and Legend is a gentleman with the mares. He was raised with seasoned mares since he was little and has learned great respect for them as well as people.

Even though Legend is young and not an appaloosa, he has still produced great color, small pretty heads, big adorable eyes, correct conformation and extra smart foals.

Legend's 1st foal of 2007 is a red dun stud colt with blanket and spots. His ApHC registered name is "Heza Loud McCloud" and you can see him on the Salebarn Page...but he is now sold!

Legend's 2nd foal born February 2008 is a sorrel filly named "Tawney" (ApHC pending) with symetrical splashes on both hips and pretty blaze.

Legend's 3rd foal born March 2008 is a buckskin roan (leopard with varnish) stud colt named "RKR Sacred Rhythm" (ApHC pending).

Legend's 4th and final foal of the year is HERE! Our gray dapple AQHA mare named JAE LU EM barn name "Mercedes"....had a red dun stud colt May 3rd, Derby Day. We started calling him Dapper Dan but now my hubby calls him "Tuff He Da Man" because he's a tough little sh#!bird....we thought since he developed diarrhea, that he was going to wither away to nothing....WRONG! After doses of Bismuth, SMZ paste and Probiotics, he's still here and kicking up his heels! He's eating on hay, drinking and playing in water, running like crazy and now we have normal bowel movements! We started giving him Omelene 200 in his own bucket when mom got her bucket and his head doesn't come up until he's got the bottom licked clean! He has absolutely no white markings.....all red dun but that could change since mom is a gray!

Check out all of Legend's foals on the 2008 Foals Page

Every foal Legend has produced so far has had all the traits that anyone would want in a horse: color, straight legs, big beautiful eyes, small heads, pretty faces, nice hips, and very smart and willing attitudes.
