     Welcome to Rockin' K Ranch

Our website name, Sacredwindwalker, comes from two places.

1) an album of Indian music titled, "Sacred" that I absolutely love to listen to.

2) "windwalker" comes from the indian shuffle of certain appaloosa bloodlines that my husband thinks is the coolest thing.

We built everything you see here on the ranch from the ground up - with some help of course, in 2003-2004. Our ranch is located in the heart of Western Kentucky - nestled on 50+ acres. It was just cropland and pasture with no driveway or structures when we bought the place. My husband and I have raised appaloosas together for over 12 years now. Our appy foals have always been easy on the eyes, handleable, and smart. Most of our appaloosa mares are foundation bred and some are modern-day bred with more QH influence. My husbands goal has always been to keep the foundation appaloosa breed alive so we purchased a young foundation bred stallion in 2007 and acquired another foundation bred appaloosa stallion this year.

Beginning in 2010, I am heart set on a new twist to our breeding program. A fabulous Friesian stallion located here in KY absolutely stole my heart when I met him in person....his charm and beauty took me by surprise and now I am totally hooked! My goal now is to blend the majestic power and beauty of a Friesian stallion with the beauty and poise of a select few of our appaloosa mares to become what I think will be stunning sport horses with color. I have located a Barque style Friesian stallion in FL and he is coming to our place the first week of March 2010! Check him out...his name is Samson!

In 2009, our junior ApHC stallion, Joker Six Spot, was broke to ride in the Spring with absolutely no problems and he was allowed to breed one of our mares named QAR Top Chic. The result should be phenomenal for color and conformation. Joker already stands 15hh as a 2-1/2 yr old and will continue to grow for a couple more years to reach 15.2h-15.3h like his parents. More pics can be seen on Joker's page. His disposition, color and height will only add to the beauty of the foals.

In 2010, we will begin accepting outside mares for a limited number of live breedings to Joker.
